Getting To Orkney

Orkney being a group of islands access is gained either by ferry or air.

Pentland Ferries offers a short crossing time for passengers and their vehicles - just one hour between Gills Bay, Caithness and St. Margarets Hope, Orkney.

John O' Groats Ferries operate a passenger ferry service from John O' Groats in the Far North of Scotland to Orkney. Daily during the summer from 1st May to 30th September.

NorthLink's fleet of magnificent ferries provide a very high standard of comfort. The frequency of the service and sailing times have been carefully prepared for your convenience to make travel to the northern isles more simple and enjoyable than ever before.

Loganair Ltd has provided air travel since 1962 to the communities. As well as providing life-line services to remote island communities, it serves the needs of the business traveller with frequent flights between Scotland’s cities and towns.

It is anticipated that Loganair’s new franchise partnership with Flybe will lead to an extended network of with scheduled connections from Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham and a range of others.
